Education.

The members of Blackadder Baroque Brass are extremely experienced educators having devised and performed a huge range of children’s projects on a national scale for many of the UK’s major concert halls.

In 1993 along with some of their closest colleagues, David Blackadder and Phillip Bainbridge created a new group that became the first ever resident educational ensemble at Symphony Hall in Birmingham, devising a totally unique form of children’s ‘edutainment’

Blast Off, which featured several other current members of Blackadder Baroque Brass went on to perform at many of the UK’s concert halls including The Bridgewater Hall, The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, St David’s Hall, The Anvil and The Barbican.

During their time as members of Blast Off they played to well over 50,000 children and created several new multi-layered stage productions with resource materials based on different musical themes. These shows, through the powerful medium of music, opened the children’s eyes to many other important and varied issues from historical and geographical to cultural, environmental and the importance of healthy eating.

Now as members of Blackadder Baroque Brass they are committed to inspire musicians of all ages with their knowledge, experience and expertise, passing on their skills to the next generation of young Baroque specialists by giving them the chance to shine in this new ensemble and helping them to become the new leading lights of the early music movement.
